Full setup guide
Connect your own domain
Connect your own domain to your ShirtWheel store in just a few minutes. Once configured, your customers design and order at your own branded domain — for example, design.yourshop.com — instead of your assigned workspace address.
Step 1
Choose your subdomain
Decide which subdomain you want your design store to live at, such as:
design.yourshop.comshop.yourshop.comcreate.yourshop.comorders.yourshop.com
Note: we recommend using a subdomain rather than your main domain, so your existing website keeps working exactly as it does today.
Step 2
Create a CNAME record
Log in to your domain registrar or DNS provider (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, etc.) and add a new CNAME record.
| Record type | Host / Name | Points to |
|---|---|---|
| CNAME | design | yourshop.shirtwheel.com |
Example
If your assigned workspace is acme.shirtwheel.com and you want your store available at design.acme.com, create:
- Type: CNAME
- Host: design
- Target: acme.shirtwheel.com
Step 3
Save your DNS changes
Save the new record with your DNS provider. Most DNS updates are visible within 5–30 minutes, although some providers may take up to 24 hours to fully propagate worldwide.
Step 4
Add your custom domain
Sign in to your account and navigate to Settings → Custom Domain. Enter your custom domain (for example, design.acme.com) and click Verify.
Our system will automatically validate your DNS configuration.
Step 5
Automatic SSL
After verification, we automatically issue and install a secure SSL certificate for your domain. Once complete, your store is available securely at https://design.acme.com — no additional configuration required.
Troubleshooting
Verification failed? Check the following:
- The CNAME record points to the correct destination (your assigned workspace address).
- The Host/Name field contains only the subdomain (for example, design).
- There are no conflicting A, AAAA, or CNAME records using the same host.
- DNS propagation has completed — most providers update within 5–30 minutes.
